Summer 2009 Allegro
Simple Shell:
Intermediate
Beginner. This simple shell is knit in
the round with no seaming required. You will learn gauge, three needle bind off and a simple crochet edge finish as well as an optional Channel Island cast-on. Class meets
Sat June 20th
from 3-5 and June 27th from
3-4:30 and July 18th from 3-4:30
Cost is $35

Knitted Project:
Beginner. Has it been a while
since you have picked up
needles or are you tired of dish cloths and scarves?
This class is for you. Pick a
small project and we will help you
learn the skills to complete it. Class
meets Sat July 18th, 25th and Aug 1st
from
1-2:30. Beginning
Knitting: This
class is for the true beginner. We will
learn to cast on, the knit stitch, the purl stitch and casting off. The class meets 1-2:30 Sat. June 20th, 27th
and July 11th. Confetti
Felted Bag: Intermediate
Beginner. This bag is knit in the round
with a wool and
a confetti type yarn, and then felted. A
purchased handle is attached. Minimum
skills required. Cost is $25

Baby Sweater 101: Intermediate
Beginner. This basic sweater will help
teach how to read a crochet pattern. The skills
learned can be
translated to an adult sized sweater. Basic stitches used are double
crochet
and decrease. The class
meets Fri July 10,
17, 24, 31st from 1-2:30. Instructor

Crochet Cabin. Fingerless
Cabled Mitts:
Intermediate. This popular
project makes great Christmas gifts for young and the not so young
alike. You will learn to use double point
needles,
how to cable, make a thumb, and a picot bind off. Market Bag: Intermediate
Beginner. Time to go Green.
This project will also make a great Christmas
gift. You will learn how to pick up
stitches, knit in the round, yarnovers, and mid row cast on. Ravelry: Laura Arndt will guide you through
using the
knitters website http://www.ravelry.com. How to set up
your account,
join groups, read and join in forums, search patterns and more. Meets
Saturday, July 11th,
3-4:30. Cost is Free. Sensational
Socks: Intermediate
level. Must be comfortable with casting
on and the knit and purl stitch. In this
6 week class we will make a small “class” sock to learn the basic
techniques of
heel flaps, turning the heel, gussets and the kitchner stitch. Then using the Sensational Sock book you will
select a sock pattern and design a custom sock for yourself. This class will have two sessions each week
and you may come to either or both if you need to make up a session. Session 2
meets Sat from
10:30-12 June 20th, 27th and July 11th,
18th,
25th, and Aug 1st.
Cost is $55
